The countdown to my last day at work has started. The panic is starting to grow. I'm involved in some data conversion that has to be tested and done before I go and things are getting a little behind. Not due to my fault, but in my opinion too many people in the mix. I'm sympathetic to a point. Another staff member took a job in another state and he is leaving before I do so they are I think more in a panic over this one than me, but it's coming.
I'm just cruising and doing what I can, but not committing to anything new. I'm also slowly emptying out my office. It's become obvious that is what I'm doing now since it's starting to look a little bare. It's enough that people who aren't in my building often have noticed. I don't want to leave things until the last minute. It's just not my style. Sprout has been eyeballing my pile of technical books and ran off with one they other day. I'm not sure where I'm going to put them all so they are just laying against a wall near my desk. My new office isn't done yet so I think they will be going there, but just not yet.
This weekend is clean off the back desk and try to get some organization going. It's starting to drive me nuts back there. FarmBoy is not good with office organization and I've been neglecting it too much lately. It's got to change. I'll be glad when the new office is done and the back entry/office is not such a dumping ground. I'm ready for it to be a little more organized for sure. The big desk takes up a lot of room. It's going away and I'm using tables and cabinets in the new office space.
I've had a couple of offers for consulting so I'm sure I'll pick something at the end of the summer. Everything can be done from home so that's a positive and I'll definitely need the new office space.
School is out and Sprout is at home working her livestock and cleaning out her room. She is purging things that don't fit, etc. I'm glad that I don't have to make her do it this year. Hopefully she's doing some laundry before I get home today too, maybe.........
