Well fall break was a total bust because we all were recovering from Covid. Sprout brought it home from school. She had a headache at her last football game and the coach sent her home. In the night she started running a fever so off to get tested we went and sure enough she was positive. Several days later I started running a fever and several more days later so did FarmBoy. I was the worst since I have on going lung issues anyway. I was sent for the antibodies and was much better a couple of days later. I still have some on going issues but I'm way better than I was before.
Sprout earned her letter jacket numbers at the fall sports banquet and is only doing cheer this winter. She decided trying to swim and cheer was just too much and she liked cheer better. Her grades are improving over last year and she really likes most of her teachers. Science is her favorite right now. The new choir teacher is also wonderful and she is having a blast singing for the first time since leaving her old school.
FarmBoy finished harvesting his crops while out on Covid leave. He's a one man show so he could just do his thing and keep rolling without coming into contact with anyone. He did do a couple of service calls but everyone knew he was positive and active. One customer had it the previous month and one guy just needed it fixed and said he would come back through with disinfectant and spray all the controls and doors down, but he needed it running badly. He wore a mask at both places to minimize things.
Time has flown by so quickly this fall and I can't believe Thanksgiving is so close. We will be going to his parents the day before and FarmBoy starts his day rotation on Thanksgiving day and the company he works for says they are running so I plan on having a scaled back dinner at 9 when he gets home. Sprout and I are going to sleep in and then watch the whole Macy's parade in our pjs. It's tradition in my family to eat pie for breakfast and we will be upholding that tradition as well. I usually make some sort of breakfast meat as well just so we don't have a total sugar rush.
I've started shopping just a bit for Christmas, but in the next couple of weeks I need to ramp that up. I always try to be totally done by black Friday, but that has been slipping the past couple of years. Sprout is getting harder to buy for since she's a teen now. I need to finish making my planner and get organized this weekend. I have Veteran's Day off from work and I took friday as a vacation day to clean the big carpet in the living room and get organized for the holidays that are coming. I'm really looking forward to it this year for some reason, more so than in past years.
